The Strategy Kill-Zone

Why Transformations Stall in the Messy Middle And What to Do About It

Date: Wednesday 3rd June 2026
Time: 7:30 AM – 9:15 AM AEST
Location: Loyal Hope, 50 Morgan Street, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane

VIP Session| Brisbane | June 2026 | Strictly 12 seats | $178 per seat

The strategy you signed off in January is not failing at the boardroom level. It’s not failing on the frontline. It’s stalling in the layer between them – the “messy middle” – where executive intent meets operational reality, and where most transformations lose momentum before they ever reach the bottom line.

This is not a people problem, it’s an infrastructure problem. The systems, rhythms and accountabilities required to carry a strategy through the middle of an organisation are rarely built into the transformation plan and their absence is rarely visible until it is too late and too expensive.

What You Will Take Away

The Strategy Kill-Zone is a closed-door working session for 12 senior leaders across two cities. In 90 minutes, you will leave with three things:
  • A reframe on adoption. Most organisations measure adoption through training completion rates and system logins. We will show you there is a deeper question worth asking, one that changes how you lead the change, not just how you track it.
  • The Adoption Lens. A take-home reference tool that maps where your initiative currently sits. It’s not a scorecard; it’s an invitation to notice what’s actually true.
  • A stated commitment. One specific decision, pressure-tested by 11 peers, that you are prepared to make within a fortnight.

This is a working session, not a panel. Come with your real problem.

Jasmine O'Reilly

Principal Change Designer & Managing Director

Jasmine is the architect of the human infrastructure approach to transformation. As the founder of The Outlier Group, she specialises in engineering adoption that goes beyond training rates to address the behavioural rhythms of an organisation. Jasmine works with executives to ensure their strategy isn’t lost in the “messy middle” by building the practical bridges between intent and action.

Alistair New

Alistair Staines

Principal Change Designer & Director

Alistair focuses on the high-friction intersection where executive strategy meets operational reality. He is an expert in diagnosing the “infrastructure problems” that cause transformations to stall during execution. By embedding into teams with a “boots on the ground” approach, Alistair helps senior leaders create the rhythms and accountabilities required to carry a strategy through the middle of an organisation to reach the bottom line.

Meet Your Guest Speaker

Stefan Bramble presenting at SXSW Sydney 2025.
Joining the session is Stef Bramble, a leadership and organisational dynamics specialist with a master’s degree in leadership and management (Organisation Dynamics).

Stef’s expertise in behavioural science, adult learning and group dynamics directly supports the core work of the session: helping leaders diagnose where execution is stalling, understand the human infrastructure required to move strategy through the middle of the organisation, and pressure‑test the decisions they need to make next.
